The Outaouais Public Health Department indicates that there are now 64 confirmed cases in the region from Gatineau to Maniwaki and the Pontiac.
A special COVID-19 unit has opened up at Hull Hospital, which can house 20 infected patients in negative pressure rooms.
Following a recommendation by the Public health department of the CISSS de l’Outaouais, there are now
police checkpoints between the Outaouais region and Ontario and between the Outaouais region and the
Laurentides, except for essential travel.
As of Wednesday, there are also checkpoints to limit non-essential travel between these territories within the Outaouais.
These checkpoints regulate travel within the Pontiac, Papineau and Vallée-de-la-Gatineau.
The measures are designed to limit spread of the virus.
