Upper Ottawa Valley OPP have released details of a two vehicle collision Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 17 and Whitewater Road in Whitewater Region Township.
The accident, which happened at 445PM, involved a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) tractor-trailer that was westbound on Highway 17 and a passenger vehicle northbound on Whitewater Road.
The Laurentian Valley Township Fire Department, assisted by the Pembroke Fire Department, extricated the driver of the passenger vehicle.
The 68-year-old driver- the lone occupant, from Whitewater Region, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported from the scene by ambulance.
The driver and passenger in the rig were not injured.
The police investigation sees a 53 year-old from Saint-Andre-d’Argenteuil, Quebec, charged with failing to stop at a red light.
Traffic was reduced to one lane in the vicinity until 8PM Friday night.
