Pembroke Regional Hospital has become the latest health facility and/or agency to join a list of those asking for backup medical supplies.
In a release sent out Thursday morning, Hospital CEO Pierre Noel says PRH has a stockpile of supplies for patients and staff, but is accepting donations of unexpired personal protective equipment, like masks and gloves.
He adds that given the current situation, the use of personal protective equipment has increased well beyond normal circumstances.
The community appeal is for hand sanitizer, N95 Masks, Surgical masks, Latex-free gloves, Disinfectant wipes, Protective eyewear (shields, safety goggles) and Level 2 isolation gowns.
Anyone wanting to donate items can contact pr@prh.email or 613-732-2811 extension 6165.
Yesterday, Renfrew County EMS Chief Mike Nolan made a similar ask in twittersphere, and indicates response has been phenomenal.
