Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says there’s a new scam going around about the new Canada Emergency Response Benefit. As part of the support package announced yesterday (March 25th), whether you are eligible for EI or not you will receive up to $2,000 for 4-months. Trudeau it’s unfortunate there’s a scam going around, but he encourages residents to get accurate and reliable information on the federal government’s website.
Trudeau says they are spending $107-billion to support people, save jobs and help the economy. The Prime Minister says part of the plan to support Canadians includes boosting the Child Benefit in May, supplementing the GST credit and making student loans interest free for 6-months. He adds an online portal for the emergency benefits will launch soon with money released within 14-days.
