Police officers are among the front-line workers vulnerable to COVID-19, and those fears have come true with the announcement that the OPP has confirmed that its first uniform member has tested presumptive positive.
Following doctor’s instructions, the member is in isolation at their home and is recovering.
The OPP member serves within the Nipissing West Detachment area and police were made aware of the diagnosis on March 21st.
The OPP and its members are not immune, and police say additional presumptive positive diagnoses are expected across Ontario.
