Horton council and staff are preparing the numbers for their 2020 budget. Included in the forth coming document are cost of living adjustments, as laid out in an employment by-law, for staff including fire and emergency staff. Back dated to January 1, all employees will see an increase of 2 percent for the cost of living. In addition, employees will also receive 59 cents per kilometre for the 5000 km they driver, 53 cent per kilometre beyond that. Mileage rages reflect those paid at the County level.
