Remuneration numbers are in, and Mayor Dave Bennett is paid nearly 20 thousand dollars for his work as head of council. In addition to his salary, he receives roughly 6500 dollars in benefits and incurred about a 1000 dollars in expenses, including conferences. Councillors around the table make around 17 500 dollars, with Councillor Tom Webster receiving a few hundred dollars more. Staff explained there’s a per diem councillors are paid for meetings they attend, that accounts for the additional money paid out to Webster. Benefits paid out were about 1800 dollars per councillor and expenses, along with conference costs were generally below 1000 dollars. Again with the exception of Webster, who filed nearly 2500 dollars in expenses and conference costs.
