Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are investigating after recent break-ins that have seen guns fall into the hands of criminals.
Police say they received a report Sunday that two seasonal residences off Highway 17 near Indian River in Whitewater Region had been entered sometime between early December and late this month.
An ATV and outboard motor were taken as well as cash and tools.
Of a more serious nature was the quantity of firearms and weaponry taken.
Missing are a 12 gauge pump action shotgun, .22 caliber / 20 gauge over/under, .303 British rifle with scope, 12 gauge Mossberg bolt action shotgun, 12 gauge Cooey shotgun, .22 bolt action Lakefield rifle and TCS compound bow.
OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) are assisting with the investigation.
