Arnprior was one of 39 communities across the province to receive funding for the new vehicle, through a
partnership agreement with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), under the Ontario Community Transportation Grant program.
Mayor Stack says “ This is a huge asset for the community and improves transportation services to our underserviced public transit areas for seniors and persons with disabilities.”
The application to MTO highlighted the lack of public transportation in a rural community – particularly wheelchair access – and the negative effects on the health and wellness of residents who don’t have transportation.
Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program & Carefor Health and Community Services will help run the transportation service.
