The Town of Renfrew continues to work towards a barrier free future so facilities are accessible to all residents. Staff recently updated their multi-year accessibility plan, to be revisited in 2025 when the province intends to become full accessible. The document, which was endorsed by council recently, addresses all departments and according to Sandi Heins, was well written. She says the town has made great strides in its efforts to be fully accessible for all residents and visitors. The matter is close to the heart for Councillor Tom Sidney, who’s mother is in a wheelchair; he’s been encouraging enhanced accessibility since his first term on council. The plan can be found on the town’s website and the municipality welcomes public feedback and comments.
