Yes, there will be a Douglas St. Patrick’s Parade this year, but the fifth annual version of the immensely popular function almost wasn’t going to happen.
Admaston-Bromley Mayor Michael Donohue says organizers were caught in a liability insurance squeeze that made hosting the St. Patrick’s Parade beyond their means.
The Mayor says the Parade Committee approached the municipality asking if it could help, and after a little research into the legal niceties, the answer was YES.
The St. Patrick’s Parade kicks off a week of Irish festivities in the community leading up to St. Paddy’s Day, the event is early this year, but it is a GO.
The St. Patrick’s Parade in Douglas is now slated for Saturday March 7th.
