Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew has been accredited with Exemplary Standing. This is the 16th year the manor has been recognized by Accreditation Canada and the first time it’s received exemplary standing. Director of Long-Term-Care with the County of Renfrew, Shelly Sheedy, says the Manor met or exceeded 99.8% of the 470 applicable quality standards. Sheedy says the biggest thanks goes to the front-line staff who ensure resident care needs are met to the best of their ability on a daily basis.
Bonnechere Manor provides 24-hour nursing care, accommodation, meals, physiotherapy, social and recreational activities for 180 residents. Adult day programs offered in Cobden and Renfrew help clients in the community and provide support for caregivers. Sheedy says they received a four year exemplary standing, which is the highest level that can be granted. Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke, the other long-term-care home operated by the county, is currently in its second round of exemplary standing.
