All schools within the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board will be closed today as the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association holds a one day strike. Meanwhile, the union representing high school teachers will be resuming its rotating strikes after a brief hiatus for exams. However, no local schools are affected this week. The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario is continuing its escalating job action, with a provincewide strike planned for Thursday. All of Ontario’s major teachers unions are involved in some form of job action as they try to work out a new contract with the provincial government.
