Environment Canada says we can expect freezing rain and snow today.
A band of freezing rain will affect most of the region this morning and into this afternoon. Environment Canada says 2 to 5 mm of ice build up is possible before the freezing rain changes to snow this afternoon. Most areas will see 5 to 10 cm of snow by Sunday morning with up to 15 cm possible.
Poor winter driving conditions are expected. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Barry’s Bay – Killaloe
- Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden
- Renfrew – Arnprior – Calabogie
