Renfrew County’s public high school and Kindergarten classes are cancelled today as part of a one-day strike by members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.
At the Renfrew County District School Board, OSSTF represents Secondary Teachers and Office Managers, as well as Early Childhood Educators.
The rotating strikes from the union come during tough contract talks with the Ontario government.
Union President Harvey Bischof says he’ll call off the strike if the government agreed to return to last year’s class size levels, but Education Minister Stephen Lecce rejected the offer.
