Today’s the day edibles and other new cannabis products went on sale in Ontario.
Erin Robertson, a public health nurse with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit has a few words of caution for those wanting to try Cannabis edibles.
Robertson says it takes longer to feel the effects from an edible, and your high lasts way longer.
The public health nurse says if you are pregnant, or thinking of getting pregnant, edibles are not for you.
She says start slowly as far as dosage strength, so you can determine your own tolerance level.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit says consult your health care provider as to individual risks you may not be aware of before taking your fist bite.
The province’s pot distributor, the Ontario Cannabis Store, says edibles will be available for online purchase starting January
16.
But the O-C-S also warns that supplies are limited and some of the new products could sell out by the end of the week.
