Renfrew OPP are reminding holiday party goers they are out with their Festive R.I.D.E program from now until January 2nd. The initiative, aimed at taking drug and alcohol impaired drivers off the roadways, is being bolstered by recent changes in impaired driving laws. A police officer who has made a traffic stop or stopped a driver in a RIDE stop can now make a demand for a roadside breath sample without having reasonable suspicion that the driver has alcohol in their body.
