County council has established committee members for the upcoming year. At the meeting on Tuesday (December 10th), a by-law was passed to establish the chairs and vice chairs for 2020.
Former Warden and Bonnechere Valley Mayor Jennifer Murphy will serve as the chair of the Finance and Administration committee with Deep River Reeve Glenn Doncaster as vice-chair. McNab-Braeside Mayor Tom Peckett will chair the Operations committee with Brudenell-Lyndoch-Raglan Mayor Sheldon Kelley as vice-chair. Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet will chair the Development and Property committee, with Greater Madawaska Mayor Brian Hunt as vice-chair. Admaston-Bromley Mayor Michael Donohue will chair the Health committee with Madawaska Valley Mayor Kim Love as vice chair. North Algona Wilberforce Mayor James Brose will be chair of the Social Services committee with Laurentian Hills Mayor John Reinwald as the vice-chair. Newly elected Warden Debbie Robinson will sit on all of the committees.
The County of Renfrew also has eight ad-hoc committees for the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan, Petawawa Boulevard, Health and Social Services, Highway 17 extension, K&P Recreational Management, Land Division, Municipal Advisory and for the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail/Algonquin Trail.
