The Renfrew County District School Board has recognized trustee Dave Shields for 25-years of service. At the final board meeting of the year on December 3rd, Shields was commended for his work on various committees and representation at the Ontario Public School Board Association. Shields says over the last 25-years, a lot has changed in terms of education, but he feels they have a good board working in the best interests of the students now.
Shields sits on the Audit Special Education Advisory Committee, is the chair of Program and Student Achievement, is a part of the Directors Review and Pathways to Thrive committees and Vice President of the Eastern Region for the Ontario Public School Board Association.
He started as a school board trustee in 1985 after 32 years with Atomic Energy and many years as owner/operator of Shields Photography.
