A local retailer has won a national award from Hardlines, an organization that serves the 1500 independently-owned hardware franchises in Canada.
27 year-old Rebecca Wichers-Schreur of Wood Works of Renfrew, Limited and Burnstown Building Supply Inc. was presented the Outstanding Retail Award for Young Retailer of the Year at the Hardlines Conference and Gala held in King City in November.
She says the hardest part was keeping that knowledge under wraps until the ceremony.
Rebecca is vice-president of HR in the family-run business.
She enjoys working with her peers in the closely-knit operation, but her true joy is being of service to the local customers.
