
Thomas Cavanagh of Cavanagh Construction has passed away. On Thursday, December 5th, Tom came to the end of his road paved with passion and generosity. He was 86-years-old. Tom Cavanagh was husband to Kay for 63 years and father of Cindy, Lori, Jeff, baby boy Randy who passed away in 1965 and nephew Mike who was like a son to him. He was proud “Poppa Tom” to Jacqueline, Amy, Holly, Patrick, Jackson, Taylor, Russell, Jordyn, and Sarah and great “Poppa Tom” to Luke, James, Gavin, Weston, and Lucy. Brother of Rosemary and predeceased by brothers Gerald, Terry and by parents Terrence and Marjorie. Special uncle to Larry, Tracey, Kim, the late Ken, Barbie, and Fred. Thomas Cavanagh Construction started with a single dump truck in 1953 and grew to over 800 employees. With over 65 years of experience managing construction projects, Thomas Cavanagh Construction has earned the reputation of Eastern Ontario’s premier site development and heavy equipment contractor. Friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, December 11 from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-9:00PM at the Beckwith Park (1319 9th Line Beckwith). The funeral will take place on Thursday, December 12 at 1:00PM at the same location. Internment at St. Clare’s Cemetery followed by a reception at the Beckwith Park. In his memory donations to the Thomas Cavanagh Foundation would be appreciated.
