Local school boards have elected chairs and vice-chairs for the upcoming year.
The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board held their inaugural board meeting on Monday. Re-elected as chair for the Catholic board was David Howard of Petawawa and Bob Schreader, a trustee for Pembroke, was elected as Vice-Chair. Howard is in his 26th year as trustee while Schreader begins his 31st year and previously held the position of chair and vice-chair for the board.
On Tuesday afternoon, Susan Humphries the trustee for Renfrew, Greater Madawaska and Horton was re-elected Chair for the Renfrew County District School Board. Trustee Byron Morris who represents the Petawawa cluster of schools was re-appointed vice chair.
The French school board has a council meeting coming up in Ottawa on December 17th.

She also sits as a public member on the Horton Township General Government Committee and has taught courses on communications and critical thinking for Algonquin College in Pembroke.
