They’re determined to have their voices heard. Climate Justice Pembroke is hitting the pavement today for a gathering at the intersection of MacKay and Pembroke Street to raise awareness to the global climate emergency and they’re looking for support from local leaders.
That’s Maxine Jeffrey, and she says they want a meeting with local leaders but they they won’t be coming to this meeting empty handed, they have ideas.
She believes if enough areas come together, they can have a global impact. She goes on to say 500 areas across the country have already declared a climate emergency. Today’s rally begins at 12:30 and continues until 2:30. Jeffrey says they’re looking for anyone who wants environmental change to come and lend their support, as well a their voice, to the cause.
