A joint Ottawa River Fisheries Management plan is being developed between Ontario and Quebec. The announcement was made last week by John Yakabuski, the Province’s Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Tania Baker is a Management Biologist with the Pembroke District office with the MNRF.
Baker says the plan doesn’t bring any change to fishing regulations on the Ottawa.
The Management Biologist says the announced plan is an extension of the previous protocol with Quebec, and allows anglers the comfort of not having to remember two separate sets of regulations while dealing with a fluid provincial boundary.
