Plans are in the works to move several county operated services under the same roof. The County of Renfrew is expecting to go to tender with the service delivery improvement project early in 2020. Chief Administrative Officer Paul Morreau is hopeful work will start sometime in the spring. He says they will be moving Ontario Works, Housing, Child Care services, and Provincial Offences Court to the county building on International Drive in Pembroke. Family and Children Services will NOT be moving as a part of the planned renovations. Officials at the County of Renfrew were hoping the local health unit would’ve stayed as well, but staff have been directed to proceed without them. The Renfrew County District Health Unit has signed a lease and will be in their new location at 141 Lake Street by July 1st, 2020.
