In Horton Township these days, the list of Frequently Asked Questions centres around road reconstruction initiatives.
Mayor Dave Bennett says this past summer the County of Renfrew did a couple of reconstruction projects in Horton.
The Mayor says the first was on County Highway 52 between Horton Township’s boundaries with Renfrew and McNab-Braeside.
The road was repaved, but the project did not include paved shoulders as had a similar County repaving project falling on the McNab-Braeside side of Highway 52.
Bennett says he had assumed this would be the case in his township; when he found it wasn’t, he had to go to the County for answers.
The Mayor says he was told paving the shoulders of Horton’s portion of Burnstown Road is in the cards- but not until a second coat of asphalt is applied to the highway in 2021.
