There’s not a lot of new-value construction work that has occurred this year in Horton Township.
Building permits are down, compared with the previous two years.
Mayor Dave Bennett says Horton’s Building Department is one individual and an assistant- and they had a lot of work to do on the demolition side of the ledger.
Bennett says although total flood-related demolition permit requests may yet come in, they are a minority of the demolition approvals issued in 2019.
There have been nine permits up to the October 22nd municipal meeting, and five have to do with the four-laning extension on Highway 17.
