It’s become a movement among young adults and it’s coming to the Valley. A climate strike is set for downtown Pembroke Friday. Organizer Emily Eadie, a grade twelve student from Equinox high school, says she was inspired by the protests taking place in Canada and around the world. The 17 year old says she wanted to bring that closer to home despite the resistance she’s experienced so far.
She hopes to see youth attend the event, especially with an election coming up. She says it’s her generation that needs to take the lead because they’re the ones who will have to live through and deal with the climate crisis.
