This is the first anniversary of the legalization of cannabis, and as of today, edibles are also now legal.
Erin Robertson of the Renfrew County and District Health Unit says edibles may not be for everyone, and there are some things you should watch for when indulging.
The Public Health Nurse says it takes awhile for edibles to take effect, and their effects last longer than if you smoke your pot, so there is a real threat of people taking too much.
Consuming cannabis is a personal choice, and it’s your responsibility to make sure children, family member and pets don’t eat it on you accidentally.
Store it in its original sealed container, preferably under lock and key.
Robertson says more information on the do’s and don’ts of consuming edibles and cannabis in general is available at rcdhu.com
