With so many candidates are new to campaigning in the federal election, the town of Renfrew is sending out a reminder in regards to their sign by-law. Several signs were recently removed from the median on Veteran’s Way Boulevard, in violation of the by-law that indicates elections signs are not permitted on public property. Candidates may place their signs on private property, with the owner’s permission. If a candidate notices some of their signs are missing in the town of Renfrew, chances are they’ve been removed and can be collected at the town’s public works garage for pick up. Clerk Kim Bulmer says it’s the candidates responsibility to familiarize themselves with each municipality’s by-laws in regards to their campaign signs.
