With the country getting ready to vote in the upcoming federal election, students at local schools are doing their part. Student Vote gives youth the opportunity to experience the voting process first hand. Director of Education for the Renfrew County District School Board, Pino Buffone, says they were one of the top 10 schools for registration across Canada.
He says this speaks to the leadership and engagement qualities of local students. The Director of Education adds this is an important step for students as it prepares them for the future. The federal election is October 21st with advance voting beginning over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
