Summer is behind us but that doesn’t mean the road work stops. OPP Constable Tina Hunt says sometimes drivers forget construction season continues into Fall and there are still workers on the roads.
The OPP would like to remind you to slow down, obey signs and remember workers have families who want them to come home safe. Hunt says it not just about the safety of crews on the road, but for the driver as well. Construction zones often have sand, gravel and other hazards that could put a motorist’s safety at risk. She also notes speeding fines are doubled in construction zones and depending on how fast you’re caught driving, you could earn yourself some demerit points.
