A 33 year old Pembroke resident is facing several charges after an incident early Sunday morning forced the evacuation of a building on Carmody Street. Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say they were called around 12:30 am about a family dispute. Police say the suspect made threats to police, damaged a family member’s home and refused to cooperate with police. The OPP Emergency Response Team and Tactics and Rescue Unit was called in and the multi-unit building was evacuated for safety reasons. Just before 5 am, police entered the home and took the accused into custody without incident. The suspect, who has not been named in order to protect the identity of the victim, has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief over five thousand dollars and counts of failing to comply with probation and recognizance.
