CNL continues to network and connect with other organizations within the industry to keep advancing nuclear energy. A recent trade show held in Chalk River saw nearly 80 vendors and local businesses come together to promote engagement between CNL, industry partners, the local supply chain and local economic development organizations. President and CEO, Mark Lesinski says CNL is leading important programs in a variety of areas, including public health, nuclear security, clean energy and environmental stewardship. He adds events like CNL’s Industry Day gives them an opportunity to discuss these projects and explore areas to inspire innovation. The event included several presentations, including the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, who touched on opportunities to work with the Algonquin Community. There was also discussion on Environmental Remediation Management, which examines and reviews strategies to prevent radiation exposure to soil, groundwater and surface water in order to protect people and the environment. Organizers say the networking opportunity was a tremendous success.
