A collision between two OPP cruisers and a van is now under investigation by the Special Investigations Unit. The crash occurred just before 3pm yesterday (Wednesday) at the entrance to the Petawawa Market Mall off of Petawawa Boulevard. The details of the accident are still unclear but we do know four people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The OPP notified the SIU and they’ve invoked their mandate. The OPP will not be able to comment on the nature of the accident until the SIU investigation is complete. The Special Investigations Unit is called in when circumstances involving police have resulted in a death, serious injury, or allegations of sexual assault of a civilian.
