The rain held off for the annual Take Back the Night March for the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre. The event has been going on for 26 years in Renfrew County and participants gathered at the Deep River Public Library on Wednesday night for the occasion. Communications Coordinator with the Sexual Assault Centre, Jancy Brown, says they want women to feel safe walking in their own communities at night.
Take Back the Night Marches are a time for women to gather to reclaim the night and declare they have the right to walk the streets and be safe.
