Three property owners on Arnprior’s Lena Street who were impacted by the 2019 Flooding are banding together to build a protective earthen berm so they can say, Never Again.
The residents are Ken O’Neill, Gary and Dianne Lemieux and Andrew Hawel.
Given that their lands were flooded in 2019, the residents believe their plan to protect their homes will assure they don’t lose value by being situated in a flood-prone area.
Hawel and his neighbours have been busy obtaining a design for the berm, which will have its own drainage contingencies, and getting their documentation in place.
He says the missing piece is a permit from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
