The cost of finding a new recycling company isn’t as expensive as it could have been. The Town of Renfrew was awarded a payment of over $88 000 to help cover costs after Beaumen Waste Management Systems closed its doors unexpectedly this spring. Development and Works Director, Mike Asselin, explains a performance bond is a document requested as part of the tender process.
He says it’s unusual a company can’t honour a contract and he’s never had to collect on a bond prior to this in his career.
