The annual Parkinson’s Super Walk in Renfrew was a huge success thanks to the support of one walker in particular. The walk took place at Mat-te-way on Sunday September 9th and over $22,000 was raised, with almost half coming from one man in particular. Director of Resource Development for Parkinson’s Canada, Alan Muir, says $10,000 was collected by Joe Gauthier.
He adds Joe has Parkinson’s himself and is a huge supporter of the organization. There were about 50 people at the walk this year and Muir says some participants including Joe were talking about how to make next year bigger and better. Donations are still being accepted here until September 30th to support Parkinson’s Canada.
