If you haven’t already, it’s time to check to see if you’re on the voter registration list for the upcoming federal election. Returning officer from Election Canada for Renfrew-Nippissing-Pembroke Robert Rantz says there are a couple of ways to make sure you’re on the list.
Rantz says that voter information cards will be sent out in the mail beginning next week. Should any of your information need to be changed, you can visit elections Canada’s website or stop by their office at the West End Mall in Pembroke. Advanced voting for the October election begins over the Thanksgiving long weekend. Candidates on the ballot include David Ainsworth of the PPC’s, Independent Dan Criger, incumbent Cheryl Gallant of the Conservative Party of Canada, Eileen Jones-Whyte of the NDP, Libertarian Stefan Klietsch, Ruben Marini of the Liberals, Ian Pineau of the Green Party.
