There will be tons of pet friendly vendors, around 100 dogs and possibly even a miniature horse at the Pembroke Marina this weekend. The annual Friends for Life walk in support of the Renfrew County Animal Centre is taking place on Sunday between 9:30am and 11:00am. Community Development Coordinator for the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre, Heather Jobe, says, this is their biggest fundraising event of the year with a goal of $32,000. Jobe says funds raised go to help the animals in need in our community.
This year Foster is the “spokes-pup” of the event. Jobe says he was adopted 7-years ago and Jobe says he is a wonderful representative and a volunteer himself.
She says the day includes a scavenger hunt, a BBQ lunch and “pup-shakes” from Blendz Smoothies for our canine friends. Jobe says you don’t need a dog to participate in the event, but encourages everyone who enjoys getting out and helping their community to come down to the Pembroke Marina on Sunday to attend.
