Before we get too far into the school year, the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is looking back on a highly successful Summer Learning Program, involving over 400 students.
Things were busy in July, with the elementary Summer School program for Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students running each morning from the 2nd through the 25th, across seven sites from Barry’s Bay to Arnprior.
270 students participated.
Many of the summer school sites went on excursions or had visits from community services including paramedics.
The summer learning program also included two week-long camps for Grade 4 students at both RCCDSB high schools.
The camps offered students a chance to do some coding work, outdoor education and team building.
In addition to the summer school courses and camps, about 100 students completed courses online.
These offerings included three sections of Grade 10 Civics/Careers and one section of Grade 11 World Religions.
