The Renfrew Food Bank is able to replace diminishing stock on their shelves, thanks to yesterday’s food drive outside of Metro. The 96.1myFM, Renfrew Metro and Mack Mackenzie Motors Fill the Truck Food Drive was a tremendous success according to Russ Connors, volunteer coordinator for the food bank.
This time of year is challenging for the Food Bank, as most people donate close to Christmas and during the winter months. However, families faced with back to school costs and keeping their bellies filled often turn to the organization for help as September approaches. The food bank recently posted a photo of their near empty shelves to appeal to the public for their support.
