Local police confirm they did not receive a call regarding a driver pulled over by a ‘fake’ officer just outside of Pembroke Friday night. myFM News made some calls about it after seeing the post making the rounds on Facebook detailing the frightening incident. A woman said she was stopped on Highway 41 in Laurentian Valley by a vehicle with red flashing lights, and a man proceeded to order her out of the car but she refused and drove off terrified. She said she later reported the incident to police. Constable Shawn Peever with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says it’s certainly the sort of incident they would investigate, however no such incident was reported to them. Peever followed up with the Killaloe OPP, who said they too knew nothing of the incident.
