County encounters skilled labour shortage

There are many good paying jobs in Renfrew County for anyone willing to put in the work. Officials at the County of Renfrew say the problem they are running into is a shortage of qualified individuals who are willing to show up and get the job done. Director of Property and Development, Craig Kelly, says after several months of trying to hire someone to fill the Day Labour Crew position, they will not continue the hiring process.

The county advertises job postings through various methods to try and get the word out. Kelly says they pay good money and he finds it strange that some people don’t even bother to show up for the interviews.
