Firefighters in Bonnechere Valley are reminding residents that a burn ban remains in effect for the municipality. This comes after crews responded to a grass fire in a field off Foymount Road near Cormac on Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters say it’s still extremely dry and if you see smoke or flames, you should call 911. Some areas in the county have received more rain and even lifted burn bans, however the local fire department says some areas in Bonnechere Valley have still received little to no rain. Reports that an individual was cutting hay and something on the equipment or a rock caused a spark were confirmed by the fire department on social media.
