Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Liberal candidate Ruben Marini is welcoming both the Ethics Commissioner’s report on the SNC Lavalin matter, and the Prime Minister’s response.
Marini says both are positive developments.
The Liberal nominee says developments show that everybody is accountable, no matter the official’s level of responsibility.
Marini maintains Ethics Commissioner Mario Dion’s report reflects the strength of our democracy and our democratic institutions.
The candidate is confident that the principles of integrity and the rule of law continue to be central in Canadian society.
Marini believes Dion’s report creates a learning opportunity, and emphasizes the need to make the necessary changes to ensure similar conflicts won’t happen again.
The Liberal nominee says the important focus for voters in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke is the integrity of our local candidates- a matter he looks forward to debating in the coming election campaign.
Liberal Electoral District Association President Oliver Jacob concurs, saying Ruben Marini is exactly the kind of principled and sincere politician that we need representing Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke in Ottawa.
