The number of customers currently without power after a massive outage struck the Valley this afternoon has now fallen to just over 10 thousand, after nearing 16 thousand at its peak.
The Hydro One outage map as at 830PM portrays service as being restored in Pembroke, but the bulk of customers still without service are in an area bordered by Wilno, Round Lake, Highway 41, and the Ottawa River- including Westmeath and Beechburg (which are served by Ottawa River Power).
A portion of western Renfrew has no power.
The outages were first reported in Eganville and Bonnechere Valley about 3:15 Monday afternoon.
Hydro One now says all communities or pockets of outage can expect service restoration about 11:30 tonight.
Although Hydro One has given no explanation for the outage, the utility says it remains under investigation.
