Clay Bank Park is an under-achieving municipal facility in McNab-Braeside that Township Council has been grappling over what to do about.
That’s Councillor Heather Lang, whose imagination has been working overtime on a development plan.
She’s proposing using the rural setting as a natural strength for Clay Bank Park and making it bee and butterfly-friendly.
A local entrepreneur is going to help out by establishing a bee colony on park land.
Murray’s Honey will place about fifteen bee hives on the property next year.
Lang says it’s a work in progress that will take a number of years before the park reaches its full potential, but an initial event, dubbed The Bees’ Knees, is tentatively slated for June 6th of next year.
