Some Renfrew residents still have questions about their recycling pick up. The Town of Renfrew has found a solution to deal with recyclables following the recent closure of Beauman Waste Management Systems.
That’s Tyler Armstrong Environmental Engineering Officer for the municipality. He says Renfrew is now looking for a long term service provider. Armstrong says when Beauman’s first closed a special depot was set up at the landfill and residents brought recyclables there for proper disposal. However, some people have questions about the collection of their blue box contents, after seeing all recycling thrown into the same cube truck. This has raised concerns with some of our listeners about how their recyclables are being process. Armstrong says at no time were the recyclables mixed in with garbage destined for the landfill.
